Al Petrick
Al
is a semiconductor industry executive with over 25 years of marketing,
business development, systems engineering, IP licensing, mergers and
acquisition, ODM/OEM service provider sales experience and is
co-inventor of several patents on 802.11 WLAN technology. He has held
executive business development roles at venture capital funded startup
and large corporations. At Harris Semiconductor (now Conexant), Al
conceptualized the PRISM IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi® product line and pioneered
the technology to volume production. Mr. Petrick developed deep
experience in startup and growth phases of new technology ventures:
evaluating new market opportunities, building management teams,
cultivating lead customers and technology strategic partners,
developing business plans and raising venture capital.
Most recently Al was a co-founder and VP Marketing for Indian River Silicon. He also served
as Vice-Chairman of the IEEE 802 working group, and is a distinguished
panelist speaker on wireless technology. Al serves on a number of
Advisory Boards and is co-author of an industry Best Selling text book:
“IEEE 802.11 Handbook, A Designer’s Companion” commonly known as the
WLAN Bible. Al is also a principal of Jones-Petrick Associates, a high-technology marketing and technical consulting firm.
He holds a BSEE from Rochester Institute of Technology,
Rochester, New York and a MBA from Rollins College, Winter Park,
Florida and studied Business Strategies at Northwestern University.
